Here in Cardiff I have been busy finalising dates for where I will be staying for the two parts of my visit to Moldova as well as preparing to leave.
I support a family of young men with disability going to a youth club in Riverside in Cardiff, called the Warehouse. They get involved in a number of activities including cooking, art and growing vegetables alongside pool.
The boys I support are busy making a banner, depicting some scenes of Riverside to take out to Moldova. It was a lovely gesture on the part of the youth workers.
Above can be seen the park where we often sit before going to Youth Club it is always nice because it is well used by the young people from the many nationalities living in Riverside.
At thee same time I have been trying to find out about Causeni where i am staying, It is one of the main administrative centres in Moldova and was not bombed like Chisinau in the 2nd World War and therefore has much more traditional old housing
So it should be a contrast to living in the capital where I lived in 1993.
On the Internet one seems to find more about the weather than anything else as it has a weather station located there i believe.
Causeni also has a 14th Century church, here seen on a Moldovan Stamp.
I am going to be in Causeni for a fortnight, under the umbrella of an NGO.
In the afternoons I will being doing some conversation English with students as well as doing the art project. The art project competition has already been sent out to the NGO so I hope the young people are already creating pictures!

I am finally getting my paintings completed and am beginning to buy materials to take out.
I thank all my friends who have given so generously to make this possible.
Finally in the last week I will be working with Helpthechildren MD, and will be staying in Tiraspol. This is a Christian Charity working in the breakaway republic of Transniestria and works with at least five state orphanages in this region.
I will be getting a picture of their work and will also be interested to see how they link into the very Communist and separatist conditions that exist in this region!
I also hope that the young people I meet will appreciate my efforts and enjoy the small project that is being offered
It has been a lot of hard work to put together ,,,, but I am so excited about using my creativity in this unique way!
... stay posted to see how this project unfolds!
