During my third week in Moldova I am working as a result of invitation with Save the Children MD, A Christian charity working with a number of orphanages in Trienistria.
On one of the evenings I am also going with the youth to visit Valentin. Valentin is 17 and was living on his own, when he had an accident while swimming in the river and broke his neck.
As a result he has had to move into the orphanage and they were looking to find a wheelchair for him in early July yo aid this transition.
Valentin is very similar to Matt Bassett, a young man who is a member of our church, the City Temple, who had a similar accident some 13 weeks ago. He was paralysed from the neck down.
Since then the church has been corporately praying for the healing hand of God to do a work of healing in Matt's body. There is a man in our Church who already testifies to a similar healing s number of years ago, where the doctors said he would never walk again after having a similar neck and back injury.
Matt as a result of prayer for healing and the work of staff at the Heath hospital, including the use of bikes to move his limbs is doing remarkably well .... this week he was able to sit in a wheel chair for the first time and be wheeled into the sun!
I do not know all the circumstances Valentin faces, other than that he does not have a family to support him! He does however have the same loving God who can also bring healing to his limbs and body even without the aid of exercise bikes!
My prayer is that even in the time now before I visit God will be doing a healing work in Valentin and he too will be seeing significant steps forward as Matt has been seeing. Amen
