It was really great to go to classes this afternnon
I met group one the ten year olds who I had first met on Tuesday. They were so receptive and were asking lost of questions as I made my introductory presentation about "A snap shot look at Clive" a presentation I put together in the middle of the night on Saturday. But I was over joyed as they asked questions about different aspects of my life travels I brought out Svetlana and I have both been very pleased how even the groups with less English have found it intereswting because of course we are able to draw different things out of my photos!!
I two was absolutely over joyed as I got the first two entries for my drawing competition from Alex and Victor with their titles Ashberry in autumn and In the Park.
This means the comopetition is definitely happening and I have scheduled with Svetlana to do painting part on the last saturday before i return home ..... so I am going to be busy painting right to the end of my stay here!
Preparing for Independance Day Celebrations:
The banners are up proclaiming the 20th Anniversary Celebrations and as you can see the woman is busy painting the curbs .... in readiness.
I also took a walk out following the course of the river Botna to get views of Causeni and see different modes of transport!!
I also spotted this family of birds who were obviously fledging their young. Anyone able to give a name to the species ?- from my photos they appear to have red throats!
I also did a painting usuing the paints, which I bought in the market and realise today to be Gouache,
There was much flora and fauna, including an abundance of flowers and butterflies.

oh its a joy to paint in such sunny conditions!
I was also aquianted with the once familiar site in any city which has now been banished to the edge of the city, where the Communist Party has its offices.

I have to say as you turn the corne, the monument is a very striking figure in the sunlight.
Svetlana who runs the teaching schhol took me out to see it, as it is close to her part time work place the Bulk grain collecting centre which is the largest of its kind in Europe, built in the communist period but was bought by an American Company in 1998.
